My Hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ
I have hope, I have peace.
Can i share my hope? my peace?
How?
God calls everyone to be disciples.
Some he calls to be disciples locally others he calls away from comforts of home.
How do I know which catergory I fall into? can someone tell me? who?
If Jesus told me to follow him, would I? would I drop everything and follow him.
Or would I say, wait..let me go home and prepare, or let me go home and think about it.
What is the minimum age for a missionary? Education? life experience?
Can God really use me?
Sell all you have and follow me! excuse me? do what?
Go to all the nations, and spread the good news! Ankeny is a nation, right?
How can i reach people, i don't even have time to relax!

On The Road Again............
Clean sheets. Ugly paintings. Window air conditioner. Gideon Bible.
No, I am not at your grandma's house. I am in a hotel room.
Yes..Yes.. it sounds very glamours. And it can be. But not for me.
Tonite as I write this I am at a Best Western. Where that name came from I don't know. I am in Kansas City, not very western. And this certainly isn't the best hotel I have ever stayed in. In fact, it is a good thing it is only a one night stay or I would have kept looking. But, the price was right and I just needed a bed. Unfortunately all they had were smoking rooms...so, I was forced to start a nasty habit. Expensive too. But hey...everyone is doing it.... or they used too. OK, I did not start smoking simply because I am in a smoking room. in fact, I didn't start. settle down mom.
OK. Sorry for rambling. My hotel is sufficient.
Some trips I fly. Some I drive. This current trip I flew some, and drove a lot. On Wednesday, I drove from Ankeny to Kansas City, then flew from KC to Houston, then drove from Houston to Sulphur LA (about 2 hrs). Then, drove from Sulphur to Shreveport LA, about 4hrs. few, that was a long day. Thursday I drove from Shreveport back to Kansas City, 9hrs driving. Now tomorrow I will drive back to Ankeny. Lots of fun. So travel is fun. sure.
The actual best part about being on the road is the food. Restaurants! Need I say more?

My Walk Today....
How is my walk today....
By the bright light! That is the word of God.
With recommendation by my pastor I have been in the word in a new way.
I was encouraged to purchase a 1 year Bible. Specifically one in which I would read an old testament passage as well as new, and a psalm and proverb selection. A blessing to my life for sure.
***i recommend it to all***
Currently it has brought me to the book of Isaiah and Galatians, books not normally read together from my perspective. However they do have some fantastic similarities that make the reading more enjoyable, to see how they connect.
I don't have much to say today....so I will end with a prayer request.
Please pray today. No, right now!
To end abortion on demand in the USA!

It has been a while..........
So..
I haven't written much lately so I thought I would send out a quick update.
Work is fine.
Family is Great!
you should have seen the sliver we pulled out of Owen's leg last night. it was awesome. Never knew he could kick so hard. :)
I am going to Brazil in June for a missions trip.
looking forward to it a lot!
Starting the fund raising. not looking forward to that.
I will write more when i get some time.

So I realize my last post about McDonalds may have fluttered some feathers and I appologize to anyone who likes this place. I also want to apologize to my followers...both of you.... I meant to get this out earlier. sorry.
So I say bull shit, and drive away.
I go on to the cabin and have a good day of relaxing out on the lake.
a couple of days go by and I decide to go to www.mcdonalds.com and see what there is to see. after browsing for about 1 second i decide to check out the "contact us" section.
Sure enough I find what I am looking for, a place right there on the website i can e-mail Donalds (as Owen calls it) and vent. In a few brief words i describe my encounter and send off my concern. Quick to respond I get an "instant reply" stating something like, thank you for your comment we will get back with you soon.
sure.
Couple weeks go by and I recieve another automated e-mail. This one has a link that takes me to a survey that they want me to fill out on how my situation was taken care of. Of course nothing had been done to fix it so, I filled it out.
time goes on.
weeks go by and finally my phone rings. bzzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzz, vibrate of course i am at work, bzzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzz. voice mail says. "umm hi Curtis, my name is ****** from Donalds in Perry. i wanted to call and appologize ummm for your umm situation you had with out drive thru. ummm we i mean i am going to send you some coupons for some free meels. Click" (just what i want more donalds). call recieved 11-4.
time goes on.
Today is 11-18 no coupons.
After I finish this blog, I think I will go back online and send in another comment.

1 Billion Served
Good Morning to all 3 of you that will read this!
I wish to tell you of my ongoing struggles with McDonalds.
It wasn't long ago when you could find me over lunch time eating three McChicken sandwiches. They tasted OK, but heck, for a buck. it was a good quick lunch.
I really enjoy a few of their breakfast sandwiches and even there ice-t brought me a glimmer of happiness.
But since the fate full day of anger and pain I find myself less frequently at the golden arches.
It started off as a glorious day this past summer. Sure to be a Saturday to remember, off to a lake house for the day. We had gotten off to a late start so we thought we would grab breakfast in Perry. Adrian wanted Burger King so we went through the drive through and got her and Owen their food. I was in the mood for a Southern Style Chicken Biscuit, but it wasn't to be...
We pulled into the drive thru at 10:25 with a line of 4 cars. I thought to myself that we had just made it breakfast closes at 10:30. The cars in front of us move forward. I pull up to the window at 10:29 (on my clock) I order my sandwich and quick as a wit the unfriendly man on the mic says "We stop serving breakfast at 10:30." I quickly snap back it is only that now. i have been in line for 5 minutes or more. My sandwich is simple folks one piece of chicken, one biscuit. I tell him i have been in line for a bit and it is just now 10:30. He is quick with his answer as if he were trained, "we are all out!" bullshit I say, as I drive away.
I go on with the my day and continue to have a good rest of my day.
